Dynamic Floating Audi Wheel Center Caps — Self-Leveling (Set of 4)

The Audi rings stay upright — even when your wheels don't. A weighted internal bearing keeps the logo level while the outer cap rotates with the wheel, delivering the same self-orienting effect made famous by Rolls-Royce hubs. From a stopped stance to highway pace, your logo reads perfectly straight from every angle.

  • Self-leveling floating mechanism — internal counter-weight and low-friction bearing keep the emblem upright at any wheel speed; no batteries, no wiring, nothing to charge
  • Precision-fit sizing — 60 mm / 61 mm / 68 mm / 69 mm to match the four common Audi cap openings
  • Two finishes — Gloss Black or Metallic Gray (see gallery)
  • Set of 4 — one cap per wheel, shipped in premium retail packaging
  • OEM cap opening compatible — designed to snap into factory Audi wheels with the same clip geometry as your original caps
  • Durable ABS construction with mirror-acrylic emblem overlay, weather- and UV-resistant, safe through car washes

How the Floating Mechanism Works

Unlike a static cap that turns with the wheel, this cap has two parts: a fixed outer housing that snaps into the wheel and an inner emblem disc that spins freely on a low-friction bearing. A small internal counter-weight keeps the emblem's four-ring logo pointing "up" via gravity — the same principle used on high-end floating hub caps by Rolls-Royce and other premium marques. No power source, no calibration, no maintenance.

📏 Select Your Size (Measure Before Buying)

Audi cap size depends on the wheel design, not just the vehicle year/model. Please measure your wheel's cap opening or your current cap before ordering.

  • 60 mm (≈ 2.36 in)
  • 61 mm (≈ 2.40 in)
  • 68 mm (≈ 2.68 in)
  • 69 mm (≈ 2.72 in)
  • Gloss Black
  • Metallic Gray
How to measure correctly
  1. Outer Diameter (O.D.) — Measure the widest point of your existing cap or the wheel's cap opening (front face). This should match 60 / 61 / 68 / 69 mm.
  2. Inner Clip Diameter (I.D.) — Measure the distance between the inner clip tabs on the back of the cap or the mating surface in the wheel. This ensures the clips seat securely.
  3. Depth / Clip Design — Some wheels share the same O.D. but differ slightly in clip geometry; check your existing cap if available.

Tip: If you have your original cap, the OEM part number is molded on the back and cross-references to the sizes above:

60 mm — 4B0-601-170 · 61 mm — 4M0-601-170 · 68 mm — 8D0-601-170 · 69 mm — 4B0-601-170A

Millimeters to Inches (Quick Reference)

Size (mm) Size (inches)
60 mm ≈ 2.36 in
61 mm ≈ 2.40 in
68 mm ≈ 2.68 in
69 mm ≈ 2.72 in

Installation

  1. Remove your existing wheel center cap (pop out from the front, or push out from behind depending on wheel design).
  2. Confirm the outer diameter of your old cap matches the floating cap you selected.
  3. Align the new floating cap and press firmly and evenly around the perimeter until all clips seat with a soft "click."
  4. Rotate your wheel slowly — the emblem should stay upright as the wheel turns. This is normal.

No adhesives, no tools required. If your wheel is off the car, seat the cap before reinstalling — makes alignment easier.

Fitment Notes:
  • Designed for factory (OEM) Audi wheels. Some aftermarket wheels have non-standard cap bores — measure first.
  • Center cap sizing varies by wheel design. The same vehicle may use different cap sizes across different OEM wheels.
  • If between sizes, re-measure with a caliper. A 1 mm difference can prevent proper seating.

Why the Floating Version?

  • Head-turning effect at car meets and stops — the logo behavior gets noticed immediately
  • All the OEM benefits (correct diameter, factory clip pattern, weather resistance) plus the self-leveling upgrade
  • Delivered in retail-grade packaging — makes a solid gift for the Audi owner in your life
  • No batteries, no lights, no maintenance — the mechanism is purely mechanical
FAQ: Are these LED / lit?

No — this listing is the mechanical floating version. The emblem is a mirror-acrylic overlay that stays upright via a weighted internal bearing. No batteries or wiring involved. If you want illuminated caps, that's a separate future product.

FAQ: Will they still work in cold weather / rain / car washes?

Yes. The bearing mechanism is sealed inside the housing and rated for continuous exposure to weather and car-wash spray. Extreme cold can add a very brief lag before the emblem re-centers when the wheels stop — nothing damaging, just a fraction of a second.

FAQ: Will these fit my Audi model?

Fitment depends on the wheel design, not the model/year. Measure your current cap or wheel opening and match the size above (60 / 61 / 68 / 69 mm). If you have your OEM cap, the part number on the back cross-references to the sizes listed in this description.

FAQ: What if I ordered the wrong size?

No problem — contact us and we'll help you swap for the correct size per our return/exchange policy. To avoid delays, please measure before buying.

Prefer the classic OEM look at a lower price?

The floating mechanism isn't for everyone — some drivers just want a clean factory replacement. Our OEM-Style Wheel Center Caps use the same four sizes and two finishes at $34.99 per set of four. Same fitment, static logo, no floating mechanism.
