Got exactly what I was expecting! Grill looks great amazing quality and easy to install emblems took a week extra to get here but all good!
Received grill within a good time frame. Ordered 3/7 and was delivered on 3/12. Emblem is due to arrive 3/15 - 3/16. Today is 3/14. I didn't feel like waiting on the emblem so pulled the one off the stock grill and installed on the new grill.
On to the grill itself, Appearance is like all the advertised pictures. Looks good. Wish it was a bit more heavy or made out of a higher density plastic though. If you'll notice, the stock grill has a sort of "backing" where the emblem mounts. This grill does not. Not a huge deal but it kind of eliminates anywhere for the camera wire harness to snap on to. Kind of funny that the video they link to for the install is of a competitors grill that has this backing. If you don't have a camera, you do not need to read further. Now for the huge, and in my opinion, most egregious fault(s) with this grill. The camera mount. The mount itself is of the same quality, but because of it's construction, it results in the picture being angled up, and practically makes 1/4 of the surround view unusable. This is entirely unacceptable and I'm sure Enthusiast Brands is aware of the issue (from other reviews) and could be readily and easily solved by their design/manufacturing team, if they do indeed have one. My hunch is that they do not actually make the grill/mounts but probably purchase them in bulk from some chinese company. In any case, they could still make a different mount as there are people on Audi forums who have designed and uploaded 3D printing files that rectify this issue. You simply take the file to a 3D print shop or upload it to a 3D print website and they ship you one for ~$30. Which is what I'm doing. ALSO, I don't know if they sent me the non-front camera grill or what, but I had to cut out one of the horizontal pieces on the grill just below the emblem as there was no way to fit the mount & camera assembly otherwise.
I saw another review stating they swapped their headlight sensors with the grill sensors to avoid crash bar interference. This is what I did and had no issues.
there isn't a place to mount your OEM S5 emblem like there is on the OEM grill. I found a video where an individual slightly modified his OEM emblem to fit in to one of the horizontal slats on this grill.
Installation is a pain only because of removing the OEM grill. Taking the bumper off, installing the new grill, and putting the bumper back on was fine and easy. The grill does snap in to place so that's good. There will be several screws left over that are used to hold the OEM grill in place that this grill has nowhere to mount. Most of them are limited to the OEM camera mount assembly.
Would I order again? For the price, and considering the camera issues seem to be across the board from other companies, yes. But I would still be disappointed about the camera situation. If Enthusiast brands wants to establish a name for themselves and take pride in their products, I suggest they invest resources into (1) using a higher quality plastic, (2) fixing the camera mount situation, (3) implement/replicate the OEM emblem mounting. At the very least if they did the aforementioned they could offer two separate grills, one of which's price could reflect the better material/mounts.
Quick to respond to questions and quick to fix a damaged shipment.
Grill fit great and installation wasn’t too difficult for me. I followed the various YouTube videos and didn’t run into any issues. My only knock is the camera mount. You’d think they would have it down by now since these grills have been out for a couple of years. It points too high as others have mentioned. I’ll more than likely use the 3D printed mount that’s discussed by previous installers. For a relatively inexpensive way to correct the camera angle issue, it’d be a nice way to solve the problem by including it even if it raised the price slightly. Some people are notching the crash bar to make the parking sensors work. I simply swapped them out with the ones below the headlights that have 90 degree plugs and they worked. I had to paint my black ones silver and vice versa, but that was pretty easily done since I paint on the side. You can find black 90* sensors online for a decent price if painting the existing ones isn’t for you. I used rhino liner on the crash bar and in the end, the overall finished appearance with the grill mounted looks great. I modified and mounted an S-Line emblem I had on my original grill that I had previously replaced the OEM Quattro emblem with. Happy with my purchase and how my car looks now.
Had to notch the crash bar, and I must have gotten the wrong front cam mount, camera points up...other than that looks great, Please update the front camera mount...
